If you break a tooth, we recommend seeing us as soon as possible. We have emergency care available to address damaged teeth or sudden pain in or around your mouth. We can fix a broken tooth before decay or an infection develops, using lifelike dental restorations. Often, we can address the issue in a single visit!

Emergency Care

First, try to recover any pieces of your damaged tooth that you can. If you can’t, don’t worry, we can still repair the tooth. We recommend rinsing your mouth with warm water and placing a cold compress against the side of the face to reduce swelling. You can use gauze to stem any bleeding. Please see us as soon as possible to avoid complications, such as decay.

Dental Bonding

Dental bonding can repair a tooth in one visit. We first clean the tooth and then etch the surface. We prepare the composite resin material, shading it to match your tooth. We then apply the material and cure it under a light, sculpting and molding the tooth in the process. Finally, we polish the tooth for a lifelike appearance. The entire procedure, start to finish, only takes one visit!

Dental Crowns

While bonding can repair minor damage, we can use a crown for more serious breakage. A crown fits over the entirety of the tooth’s visible portion, protecting the tooth from decay or infection. We use a variety of materials to crate them, but we often use porcelain due to the material’s strength and lifelike appearance. Placement takes two visits, the first to prepare the tooth and take impressions, and the second to place the completed restoration. If you have any questions about repairing a tooth, then please contact our office today.
