Correcting Your Dental Misalignment
Dental misalignment, also known as malocclusion, can lead to crooked, crowded, and overlapping teeth. Without treatment, this not only impacts the appearance of your smile, but could lead to major oral health complications down the road, not limited to cavities, gum disease, and even TMJ disorder and bruxism (teeth grinding). If you have a more substantial case of misalignment, then our board-certified orthodontist, Dr. Mo, could help correct your smile with braces.
How Will Braces Work?
With traditional braces, Dr. Mo and our team attach brackets to the front-facing sides of your teeth. We connect these brackets with a thin arch wire, using bands to hold them in place. During periodic visits to the office, we will adjust tension in the wires to begin shifting the teeth. With lingual braces, we use the same brackets and wires, only these are connected to the back of the teeth. We recommend braces when you have a more substantial case of misalignment, and you could see optimal results in about two years in most situations. If you have poor alignment and want to obtain an even smile, reach out to our team today!
