Dr. Diep Truong

Dr. Truong was born in Paris, Texas, grew up in Richardson, and attended the Greenhill School in Dallas. She graduated cum laude from the University of Dallas at Irving with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and a minor in business. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in 2003, where she received the prestigious Dr. P. Earle Williams Award from the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Chapter.

To ensure that her patients receive the most innovative treatment available, each year Dr. Truong attends numerous hours of continuing education courses to keep abreast of advanced dental materials and cutting-edge technology. Dr. Truong has completed more than 100 hours in Comprehensive Orthodontic Education from the American Orthodontic Society and has attended numerous hands-on classes at the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Conference in Nashville, TN, and San Diego, CA.

Dr. Truong believes deeply in giving back to her community and is passionate about investing in the people and the city that invested in her life. Each year she is invited by dozens of schools around the area to provide dental education to local school children. In addition, her office hosts the “Give Kids A Smile” each year, where she and her team provide free preventive treatment for children under the age of 12. Furthermore, she encourages healthy choices by hosting her annual Candy Buy Back Program after Halloween. Her office buys back candy from children at a dollar per pound, then ships the candy to our troops overseas as part of Operation Gratitude. Since 2011, Dr. Truong has continued to serve as a Preceptor Faculty member at Baylor/Texas A&M College of Dentistry where she enjoys mentoring dental students. In 2016, Dr.Truong served as President of the Dallas Asian Dental Association. As an active member of this organization, she further dedicated her time as both the Mentor Committee and the Continuing Education Chairman. Dr. Truong is also a longstanding member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and Dallas County Dental Society.

When not working or volunteering, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, traveling, biking, and fishing, and playing piano. She has also completed two marathons and plans to continue striving to complete more each year.


Dr. Thu Thao Phan

Dr. Phan joined the Viva Dental family in 2013 as an Associate Dentist. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of California in Riverside, and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from New York University in 2010. Patients appreciate that Dr. Phan treats them as individuals and listens to their concerns. Dr. Phan enjoys the opportunity to have a positive impact on her patient’s oral health, and strives to treat each patient as she would a member of her family. Dr. Phan is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, the Dallas Asian Dental Association, and the Dallas County Dental Society.

Outside of the office, Dr. Phan likes playing badminton, traveling, and spending time with her husband and their two children. Her favorite TV show is Friends.


Dr. Ngan Le Ambriz

Dr. Ambriz joined our office in 2015. She received her undergraduate degree in economics from the University of California Berkley and completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery at the New York University College of Dentistry. Afterward, Dr. Ambriz attended a one-year general practice residency at the Department of Veterans Affairs in New York. She also obtained a post-graduate degree in prosthodontics at the Manhattan Veteran Affairs Medical Center.

Dr. Ambriz is certified in replacing lost teeth with dental implants, as well as treating misalignment with Invisalign. Her patients enjoy her friendly, gentle, and caring chairside manner. Dr. Ambriz appreciates her patients’ preparedness and knowledge, and she enjoys learning more about them. She is currently a member of the American College of Prosthodontics, the American Dental Education Association, and the American Student Dental Association. She has been awarded both the Delta Dental Student Leadership Award and the Quintessence Award. Her charity work includes pediatric dentistry outreach and acting as assistant professor at NYU College of Dentistry.

Outside of the office, Dr. Ambriz enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with her husband and three sons. Her favorite shows include Grey’s Anatomy and Master Chef.


Dr. Alon Shalev


Dr. Alon Shalev is a periodontist who is committed to delivering quality clinical care while always keeping his patient’s best interest at heart. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences in 2005. In 2010, he obtained a Master of Health Management from the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and went on to earn his periodontics specialty certificate as well as a Master of Science degree at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Shalev found his passion for dentistry by watching his father, who is also a dentist. He has run multiple dental practices in the past, but today, he primarily provides implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and micro-surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology and has published several papers in major journals in his field.

In his free time, Dr. Shalev likes to travel with his family (including his wife and two kids), exploring new places, sports, and fine cuisines. He enjoys volunteering by providing dental care to veterans suffering from PTSD, and he also lectures and teaches continuing education courses.
