Today is the last day to bring in your kid’s excess candy and take advantage of our annual Candy Buy Back program! You and your little ones can support a good cause and also protect your smiles from tooth decay. In today’s blog, your team at Viva Dental Family Dentistry in Dallas, TX, talks about our Candy Buy Back program!
The Candy Buy Back Program
First, round up your child’s excess candy and bring them and their sweets to the office. Today, the event is happening at our Dallas, TX, on 1050 North Westmoreland, Suite 432B, from noon to 7pm, so there is plenty of time to see us after work! We pay one dollar per round of candy, so your kids can turn their Halloween haul into money instead of cavities. We will donate the sweets and also toothbrushes to a local shelter, helping those in need. We do this every year after Halloween, so be sure to keep an eye on our social media next fall too.
Sugar and Tooth Decay
What makes sugar such a danger for smiles both young and old? Well, when we consume them, especially chewy and sticky candies, then sugar can become stuck to the teeth or trapped between them, bacteria will consume them, a process that creates plaque and tartar buildup, layers that weaken outer enamel to make cavities possible. You then develop toothaches and a risk of infection and more down the road. This time of year, from Halloween through the holidays, we are all inundated with sugar, so be sure everyone is brushing and flossing, and better yet, be sure you see us for one last checkup and cleaning of 2026!
See Our Team Soon
Our team can see your whole family for a dental exam and a cleaning, so we can monitor your smile and catch issues that need care, and hopefully address them before the hectic holiday season begins. We offer a comprehensive array of treatments to help all ages enjoy their best smiles, and to greet 2027 with teeth that shine. A visit now also means you can use your remaining 2026 dental insurance benefits and/or health savings account funds before they expire on December 31st!
