Welcoming New Patients
At Viva Dental, we are always happy to accept new patients, even walk-ins and emergency patients. Our goal is to provide caring, quality dentistry to everyone who seeks out our services. Treating all patients with the same level of compassion and respect ensures that they walk out of our office with a smile.
Dr. Truong accepts most dental plans, including Medicaid and CHIP, but does not accept HMOs. To find out if Viva Dental accepts your insurance, call our office to speak with one of our helpful staff members. We are happy to file your insurance claims for you, and we always look for ways to help you maximize your benefits. Please do not hesitate to call us with questions about your coverage. Make sure that you tell us if your insurance plan changes, and always bring your current insurance card to every appointment.
Payments and Financing
At Viva Dental, payment is due at the time of service. We do realize, however, that some patients, especially those who are uninsured, may need to finance their dental care. That’s why Dr. Truong accepts CareCredit, a financing option with low-interest payments. Our office staff will be happy to help you apply for CareCredit, which takes just a few minutes. Viva Dental also proudly partners with Citi Health Care Card, which allows you or a family member to begin receiving the treatment you need immediately with no money down and low monthly payments. Dr. Truong also offers an in-house discount plan for uninsured patients to help everyone receive the care they need.
Your First Appointment
At your first appointment, Dr. Truong will discuss your medical history with you, including your oral health history. Obtaining a full picture of your overall health helps your dentist choose treatments that do not interfere with certain medical conditions, or medications you are taking. Next, she will perform a visual examination of your mouth, and probe your teeth and gums with a dental instrument to determine if tooth decay or gum disease is present. Your dentist will also perform a thorough oral cancer screening. Dr. Truong may also take digital X-rays or use an intraoral camera to help detect problems that are not visible to the naked eye. If oral health issues are found, your dentist will outline a treatment plan to restore your oral health. The next part of your appointment is a professional teeth cleaning, during which your doctor will remove tartar from your teeth using either manual or ultrasonic scaling, followed with a thorough polishing, so that you leave our office with a clean, fresh mouth.
