We recommend people of all ages brush their teeth twice each day, first thing in the morning and again before going to bed. Each session should last two minutes. We also suggest flossing every night before going to sleep. Doing so removes food particles from on and between the teeth, decreasing the severity of plaque buildup and protecting your smile.

While routine homecare helps limit how much plaque accumulates on the teeth, they cannot remove plaque buildup. Only a dental cleaning can remove the layers of plaque and tartar from the teeth. When you undergo a cleaning, we remove the bacterial byproduct and help prevent the onset of tooth decay and gum disease. You should have a cleaning every six months, whether you’re a child or an adult.
