On Friday, February 28th we are once again hosting our Give Kids a Smile event, in which children in our community can obtain free preventive care from our team! Free Dental Care for Kids
Tomorrow, we will be offering free dental care for kids! This is for children ages 12 and under, and will include free dental exams and x-rays. We will also talk to your kid about caring for their smiles and enjoying better oral hygiene. We then clean the teeth, which involves removing all harmful plaque and tartar from the smile to limit the risk of cavities and gingivitis. Afterward, we can provide preventive treatments to help fight the onset of cavities. Our team will apply fluoride to the teeth to keep the enamel strong and prevent erosion and cavities. We also have dental sealants, a special acrylic coating we apply to the hard-to-reach rear teeth, which helps limit the risk of cavities in the rear of the mouth for years to come.
Keep Smiles Strong at Home
You can also take steps from home to help your kids enjoy better oral health and brighter smiles. First, make sure they start their day by brushing for two minutes with a fluoride toothpaste. You can time them with a fun song or video. They should do the same before they go to bed. They also need to floss before they brush that second time, removing the bits of food and drink particles that are trapped between teeth and beyond the reach of a toothbrush. Try to limit the amount of sugar in their diets too!
