The Candy Buy Back Program
Kids get a TON of sweets during their Halloween adventures, and too much could lead to tooth decay. But we can help! With our Candy Buy-Back program, we will purchase your child’s treats, offering them a dollar per pound.
You can bring their sweets into our Richardson location on Wednesday, November 5th at 722 West Spring Valley Road. We will also be having the Candy Buy-Back at our Dallas location on Thursday, November 6th at 1050 North Westmoreland Road. Not only do you get to unload all those extra sweets and your kids get a little spending money, but all participants will be entered into a raffle to win a Phillips Kids Sonicare Toothbrush, a $70 value! We then ship the haul overseas to our troops as part of Operation Gratitude.
Note: we do have a limit of 10 pounds per family. Some of you really clean up on Halloween!
Managing Your Sweets
Remember, as Halloween ends and the holiday season begins, there will be a lot of sweets in your child’s future. To help reduce the risk of cavities, we urge parents to limit how many treats kids eat each day, trying to limit them to a piece or two just after dinner. The elevated saliva levels from the meal helps rinse away the sugars, and a glass of water helps too.
Tips for Better Oral Health
You should also make sure the whole family is taking proper care of their smiles! Be sure everyone starts their day by brushing their teeth for two minutes with a fluoride toothpaste, and that they do the same before going to bed each night. Everyone also needs to floss before bed to remove what a toothbrush alone cannot reach. Now is also a great time to schedule a checkup and cleaning for your family, so we can tackle any oral health issues and you can use your remaining 2025 dental insurance benefits before they expire at the end of the year!
