Did you know that every year, we offer FREE preventive dental care for children of all ages? This is a chance to help improve the health of your little one’s smile, so we hope you sign up and take advantage of this event. In today’s blog, your Richardson, TX, dentist talks about our annual Give Kids a Smile Event, happening on the 27th of this month!
Give Kids A Smile
We are always excited to host our annual Give Kids A Smile event, which will take place this year on Friday, February 27th from 8am until 4pm. This event is for children ages 12 and younger, and will include a free dental exam and oral hygiene education, so we can help provide a better understanding of how and why to take care of their teeth from home each day.
We will conduct x-rays to assess the health of your child’s smile, and apply dental sealants to help lower the risk of tooth decay. Sealants coat the teeth, and can help lower cavity risks for years to come. We also apply fluoride to the teeth, which strengthens the outer enamel to further the cavity fight. Of course, we also clean the teeth before this, so we can remove harmful layers of plaque and tartar from little smiles, which lowers the risk of issues like tooth decay and gingivitis.
Remember, this is limited space, so be sure to call us right away to register and hold your child’s spot! The event will happen at our Richardson location on 722 West Spring Valley Road.
The Need for Preventive Treatments
Over time, factors like poor brushing and flossing habits, a diet high in sugar, and other factors could leave smiles vulnerable to tooth decay. We want to help children enjoy better oral health and avoid cavities, which is why we urge parents to bring their children in for routine visits. Take advantage of our Give Kids a Smile event, and if possible, continue bringing your little one in for routine checkup and cleaning appointments every six months. Our team can monitor their smile and address issues early, or help kids avoid them altogether. We also offer pediatric evaluations to address possible airway issues at night, which can impact oral health and also behavior at home and school.
If you have any questions about protecting little smiles, or if you want to register for your child’s spot at our Give Kids a Smile event on the 27th, then contact our team today!
